Adult ethnic minorities said that they do not know Chinese, so that they do not understand job advertisements and they are unable to communicate with their employers. It is not easy for them to get a job, let alone get an ideal job or a job with better remuneration.
In fact, many ethnic minorities who grew up and lives in Hong Kong do not have Chinese family background. When they go to school, they are unable to catch up with the learning progress of their local counterparts and thus learning is considerably difficult for them. Their school life and social life are seriously affected. Therefore, we provide one-on-one Chinese lessons for ethnic minority students who are not familiar with Chinese language. Hence, they can have a good command of Chinese language in terms of listening, oral, reading and writing skills. They can integrate themselves with the local livelihood and lay a good foundation for the future.
