Every potential project must go through a series of assessment and evaluation. We organize work groups and mobilize our volunteers to help us conduct on-site assessments and evaluation.

A work group is formed by 3 to 5 members or volunteers. They, on behalf of Sowers Action, travel at their own cost to the mountain areas in need. The work group will conduct on-site assessment, school visit, follow up how subsidy and resources are used. They also help on school construction checking, assist in distributing winter clothes to children in need, conduct student interview and home visit orphans and underprivileged children. In year 2019-2020, we have organized 116 work groups involving approximate 557 volunteers.

Teaming of Work Group:
Work group is coordinated by Project Funding Services Department . After regional executive and team leader* confirm job details and schedule, they will recruit and meet interested volunteers to set up the work group.

To enable team members to have a clear picture of the job scope, workflow and background, we organize briefing sessions which every team members must present. After the work group is formed, team members should share the assignments including questionnaire survey, photo taking, expense record and reports, etc.

Work group volunteers are responsible for all cost incurred during the field trip including transportation, meals and accommodation. All expense incurred in the field trip should be spent on a thrifty manner. Sowers Action can arrange transportation on behalf of the work group, or the team can make their own arrangement.

Before departure, all team members must buy their own travel insurance^, which protect them against unforeseen travel misfortunes.

Any personal donation to the needy during the trip should be avoided and we should politely decline any gifts as a return of visit. When you find a school or a student that needs help, report the facts to Sowers Action, we will follow up after evaluation. Any kind of fundraising activities on behalf of the needy is prohibited.

Work group members should always act as a team. Team members should observe and cooperate with the team leader with a goal to accomplish the assignment.
